Rainbow Patina
Traditional Rainbow Patina is a very interesting finish. Depending on the application method and the metal used, many different finishes can be created using this patina. For best results, apply to a shiny and clean metal surface. This patina does not work with the Metal Coatings.
Brass:
Clean metal with IMS Metal Cleaner (do not sandblast).
Apply two coats of Rainbow Patina to hot metal (200-220°F).
Additional coats will bring more silver colors.
Wash while hot for brightest colors.
When dry, protect the finish with 2 coats of Clear Guard.
Copper:
Clean metal with IMS Metal Cleaner (do not sandblast).
Apply 1-2 coats of Rainbow Patina to hot metal (200-220°F).
Do not wash.
When dry, protect the finish with 2 coats of Clear Guard.
The color will continue to develop for 1-2 days.
Cold Rolled Steel:
Clean metal with IMS Metal Cleaner (do not sandblast).
Apply Rainbow Patina to hot metal (200-220°F).
Wash while hot.
When dry, protect the finish with 2 coats of Clear Guard.
Stainless Steel:
Clean metal with IMS Metal Cleaner (do not sandblast).
Apply many coats of Rainbow Patina to hot metal (200-220°F).
Wash while hot.
When dry, protect the finish with 2 coats of Clear Guard.
